The theoretical qualification already took place in December 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Dietmar Stemann (mts Consulting Partner) during a 10-day advanced training course. In addition to the methodical Six Sigma contents, the focus was on project management, team leadership and change management.

The second part of the certification represents the independent execution of an improvement project. Ms. Schmitt was able to carry out this at Miele & Cie. KG in Gütersloh with further support from Ms. Martina Ringeln, Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Head of Series Maintenance and Deputy Head of Quality Management. Under the title "Statistical process assurance through the use of Six Sigma and Data Analytics methods", selected Six Sigma and Data Mining methods were used to identify and verify quality-relevant influencing factors in the production process.

The certification as Six Sigma Black Belt represents a significant milestone in the Six Sigma research area at the Institute for Production Systems. In particular the combination of the Six Sigma approach with novel data mining techniques represents a current research and development focus of the Institute's work.

We would like to thank our cooperation partners for the competent support and the good cooperation and look forward to future joint projects.
