Problemdefinition and Objective

The goal of an efficient zero-defect production requires the development of resource-aware procedures for real-time production process control and quality prediction. To cope with the new challenges of producing increasingly individualised products with a short lead-time to market and higher quality, optimal and real-time decision-making support methods must be investigated. While bridging gaps in scientific research through new machine learning methods, the verification of applicability and suitability for real-world applications should not be neglected in order to ensure knowledge transfer to industry. Accordingly, developed machine learning methods have to be evaluated and validated on real data based on real-life applications with all related constraints.
